Companion / Homemaker Services

Companion/homemakers help elderly, disabled, ill, and convalescing persons live in their own homes instead of healthcare facilities. Most work with individuals or couples who need more extensive care than family or friends can provide. Some companion / homemakers work with families in which a parent is incapacitated and small children need care. Others help discharged patients who have relatively short-term needs. Still others provide 24-hour live-in care.

Companion / homemakers provide housekeeping services, companionship, and emotional support for their clients. They clean clients’ houses, do laundry, and change bed linens. They may also plan meals, shop for food, and cook. They can provide transportation to medical appointments or outings.
